Online Editable Test Reports

These reports are designed to be edited, and saved, for later upload into our Project Tracking database.
When saving the file...
Rename the default file name: SN-YYYY-MM-DD TestReport.htm
to something more like this: 961531-2009-01-30 TestReport.htm
(.htm files are viewable on any browser)

Using FireFox to Save Your Test Report

Important: The "Save Page As..." feature will only work properly when using the FireFox Browser. It is strongly recommended that you switch over to using this browser even for your day-to-day surfing, due to it's much better security as compared to the IE browser that comes with Windows.

Adding Files to a Project as 'Linked Content'

Also please be aware that you will only be saving a copy to your computer, the file on the server is unaffected. The saved copy can then be later uploaded into our Project Tracking database using the "Linked Content: Add" feature under a given project name.

Resize Images for Upload

Shrink Images

If you want to use the "Linked Content: Add" feature to also include photos with your projects, then you have to be sure that they don't exceed 50K in size (Note: This was expanded to 200K, but it's always good to keep the uploaded file size small in order to preserve server space). Clicking on Shrink Images will take you to an easy to use free online image resizing service.

Example: Resize Image Parameter Settings
Using the following settings:
Maximum Image Dimension = 600 Pixels
Image Quality = Good
In most cases, will yield a picture that stays within the 50K boundry (Note: minimum file size limit increased to 200K).

Right clicking on the image that has been downloaded to your computer, will allow you to both rename it to something more appropriate, and to also use the properties selection to see the actual file size of the image.

If you find that the file size limitations have been exceeded. Try reducing the Maximum Image Dimension to "350 Pixels", and perhaps bump up the Image Quality to "Better" or "Best" and see what happens.

Or you can use the "Custom" selection, and perhaps make it slightly under 600 Pixels (575 Pixels). Play around with the settings until you get the results you are after, while also keeping the file size within the 50K limitations.
